Come and join us for a magical dance of music and poetry. Poems by Rumi, Hafez, and others, masterfully recited by Eric Schneider and the beautiful, evocative Latin American/Mexican/Nueva Trova songs by Armando Alcaraz.
Proceeds of this concert will support the NVC in Spanish program to teach NVC to monolingual speaking parents in High Schools and Elementary Schools in Santa Cruz.

Eric Schneider heartfully, joyously spouts the sacred poems of the mystics Rumi and Hafiz, kindling the silent flame of awakeness in every heart. Eric has memorized over a hundred of these sacred poems that spring to life through his beautiful spirit, voice and warm presence. Eric is a founding member of the Santa Cruz improv troupe "Loose Cannon Theater" and co-editor of "My Secret Is Silence", a collection of poems and sayings of his teacher Adyashanti.

Armando Alcaraz was raised in Mexico City and has been residing in Santa Cruz since 1997. In Mexico City, Armando studied classical guitar at Manuel Lopez Ramos "Estudio del Arte Guitarristico" and music composition at the Centro de Investigacion de De Estudios Musicales. Since 2008 Armando has been writing songs drawing inspiration from Mexican and Latin American folk songs. Armando has been learning and practicing Nonviolent Communication since 2001. Armando started teaching NVC classes in Spanish and coaching individuals in NVC in 2007. Since 2008 he has been teaching Nonviolent Communication workshops for couples and offering family and work mediation services. |
