NVC Integration & Immersion Program 2010 6 Months of Living & Learning NVC
Starting January 23, 2010!
If you are interested in increasing your NVC knowledge and facility, deepening your NVC consciousness, sharpening your skills, and embodying NVC as a life practice, please consider joining us for the 6-month NVC Integration & Immersion Program. This program is for individuals desiring to incorporate NVC as a tool for personal and global transformation.
This six-month (80 hour) program includes:
· A 5-day retreat, in March, at WindTree Retreat Center in the Santa Cruz Mountains
· Two Friday half-day workshops, 1-6 PM
· Three Saturday day-long workshops, 10-5 PM
· Five Monthly two-hour practice group on Tuesdays, 7-9 PM
· Weekly check-ins with an Empathy Buddy
· Journaling

Our Saturday and Friday Workshops are designed for a balance of didactic and experiential learning. We have exercises that include work in pairs, small group and large group. Our sessions contain a range of fun to serious and deep to light. Our intention is to provide a safe and supportive environment for authentic expression and where we are all consciously helping each other to meet needs. |

Our Practice Groups provide opportunities to role-play and practice NVC skills of speaking with clarity, listening with empathy, and staying in conscious communication. The group will be divided into three separate facilitated practice groups to insure maximum participation. |

The 5-day Retreat will be at WindTree, a beautiful and rustic non-commercial retreat center that lends itself to our community experience. We’ll have spacious time to integrate NVC into our daily interactions, as well as opportunities for self-reflection, journaling, small group work, and individual sessions.
The NVC Integration Program is co-facilitated by Jean Morrison, MA, and Christine King, MA, certified trainers with the Center for Nonviolent Communication. We also have several 2nd-year student assistants. For more info about Christine and Jean, please see their profiles.
We anticipate that there may be some sessions you will be unable to attend. We ask that you let us know whenever this is the case.
Cost
The total cost for the six months is $1250-2250 payable in advance or in three installments; (This includes tuition, housing and food costs for the retreat). Please let us know if you need other financial arrangements.
If you would like to be part of this program, please fill out our online application. Because our space is limited to 25 and we accept applications on a rolling basis, we ask that you complete your application as soon as possible. Following acceptance into the program, we will send each participant a welcome letter containing more information and details. Cancelation policy: If you cancel your participation in the program prior to the first day of the program, you are entitled to a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee. If you cancel after the program begins, any credit will be used for future workshops or for private sessions with Jean or Christine.

Lately, I've noticed that sometimes when I want something, I tend to trip out on not getting it, ie imagine that I'm not going to get it...and then I get all jackeled out, i.e. upset and angry, before anything even happens. But because of NVC, I've started catching myself and turning off the stuff I'm telling myself. For example, I wanted my housemate to clean the bathroom. he's lived here 4 months and never cleaned anything (I always do.)--blah, blah, jackal, blah, blah.
But I caught myself imagining the worst (that he wouldn't do it) -- rather than the best, silly me --- and stopped doing it. Later, I asked him the NVC way...and he said SURE and he did it the same day!
So, thanks for helping me change, all of you, in immeasurable ways.
And to see it's possible to get what I need in life and/or to talk about things.
