Basics of NVC: 6 week series

As a way to fit a little bit of NVC learning into our days sheltering in place, Kristin is offering a Basics series over 6 weeks online through Zoom. This class will meet Mondays from 6-7:30 pm PST, (with an optional Q&A from 7:30-8pm)., and will include a quieting, content teaching on the principles and practices of nonviolent communication (NVC) with time for dyads in breakout rooms, applications to real life situations.
After you register by clicking here to eventbrite, you will be sent an email with access info to Zoom (number and password) that will be used for all 6 classes. If Zoom is new for you, please show up to settle in 15 min early for the first class, and Kristin can orient you. You’ll be let in from a “waiting room” in time for us to begin. Kristin is committed to making this Zoom series as engaged and human an environment as possible, and has many strategies that support our bodies and our expression.

Nonviolent Communication has been called a language of the heart, a transformational process, and an amazing tool for improving relationships. People who practice NVC have found greater authenticity in their communication, increased understanding, deepening connection and conflict resolution.
If you are new to NVC, or attended an Introductory evening, or just want a refresher–this class is for you. In this two week (8 session) hands-on, experiential course, you will learn the four components of Nonviolent Communication–observations, feelings, needs, requests in order to have both honest and empathic conversations. Each week, students will return and discuss how they used the skills, how they can increase their skills and make NVC a life practice.
Students are encouraged to read the book “Nonviolent Communication: Language of Life” during the course. Books can be purchased in advance from a bookstore, Amazon on line or at cnvc.org
