Grief in the Time of Covid 19
April 27, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
On 4/27 and 4/29, from 9:30-11:30 am pacific time, Kristin will hold two zoom sessions on the grief that is surfacing right now. Because what is coming up now has piggybacks from our previous losses. She did a few sessions in the early weeks of shelter in place, and because participants found value in holding our mourning in community, she is responding to the call for more.
We are all experiencing losses and heartbreaks of many kinds, many sizes, some of our own personal experience, some that we carry for our beloveds and those who share identity with us, some heartbreaks farther out to those we’ve never considered before. Some of our losses stem from living with uncertainty and scarcity.
We’ll be drawing on NVC principles, but you don’t have to be an NVC’er to participate. I will guide folks to look through lenses of empathy and honest expression, to curiously and warmly approach ourselves in our longings and yearnings as we encounter the despair, rage and powerlessness that accompany our grief.
Because Zoom technology is something to be grateful for, but also a mode that can hold us hostage, it is important to say here that Kristin has a number of strategies for keeping us engaged and present to the tender expressions of grief that will show themselves. Know that you’ll have a number of forms and structures that aim to have you feel into yourself and others. We will have small group and dyad breakout rooms, but we will also come together with choices about how to share with the whole group.
This series is open to attendance for the first one to all, to the second only for those who came to the first.
Please register on eventbrite with a wide array of sliding scale or dana/donation for Kristin’s ease in tracking you and emailing all who wish to participate. Click here to register. If you prefer to send donation in another way, please register on eventbrite anyway and contact me as below for alt methods (paypal, venmo, snail mail checks)
Kristin was asking folks to pay as they can, to consider their own needs as well as mine (lost virtually all income for the coming 6 months). PM , text me (831-246-0730) or email firstname.lastname@example.org to give me your email so I can get you the zoom link and password.
