Do your hurt feelings or your loved-one’s hurt feelings create a barrier in your relationship?
Nonviolent Communication offers a path to overcoming hurt feelings—as well as perceptions of rejection and disrespect. In this workshop we’ll consider ways to empathize with our own pain without feeding the kind of thinking that alienates the other person from us.
We’ll also practice how to respond when our loved-one is feeling hurt. We’ll consider the approach to apologies that are authentic expressions of regret. And how to explain our motivations in a way that doesn’t sound self-justifying.
With the NVC approach, we can develop considerable immunity from feeling hurt and defensive. Imagine relationships without the cycle of defensiveness!
