I’m Caren Camblin, one of the newest members of our Core Team of trainers here at NVC Santa Cruz. I’m enthused and deeply grateful to join a team of trainers whose practice of NVC has inspired me for 15 years.
I came to NVC in 2005 as a brand new philosophy teacher at UCSC, trying to figure out how to better communicate with my students. So much more clarity and connection was available than I ever realized! (both in and out of the classroom, as it turns out.)
I’ve been reading, studying, and practicing my way deeper into the language of NVC ever since. I’m a graduate of and former assistant for ICAL (2009/2010). Since 2017 I’ve taught an academic course called “NVC and Social Justice” on the UCSC campus, which was created by Christine King, one of my most influential mentors. Last year I taught at Funfest and the Art of Communication Festival.
Tidbits: I’m also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and a Registered Yoga Teacher. NVC helps me show up with intention in the classroom, the dojo, on the yoga mat, and in my personal relationships.
Request: I’d love to hear from you! What are you looking for from NVC Santa Cruz that I might be able to offer? Do you have any questions about my background or approach? Please feel free to reach out to me at caren.email@gmail.com
